Dos

- Check for reliability of a selling place you wished to buy a dog. Asking for information from veterinarian or ask for information from association of dog breeding about dog’s classification.

 - Observe puppy’s mother and father behavior as above 50% of puppy are likely to become like their parents. Be ware of breed’s detection. If you want pure breed dog, have veterinarian to check for its breed before purchase.

- In case that you have small children, ask the owner if dog can get along with children, including his manner when he is alarmed or frightened. Puppy usually likes to play with children and they are different from older dogs that prefer quiet lifestyle and then are always difficult to adjust to lively lifestyle.

- Get some time to be alone with your dog. Separate him from his cage and observe his behavior. If he is easy to adjust, he will be happy especially with hugging and attention. In case that you prefer full growth dog, spend some time with him without his owner’s existence to observe if he is ready to befriend with his new owner. If he barks or stays away from you, it shows he used to meet bad experience and then he is difficult to adjust. If you receive a dog from an organization, you will have no way to know his part. The more important thing is to ask for information from the owner as much as you can. If the owner is trying to hide or unwilling to answer your question, you are recommended buying a dog from somewhere else.

Don’ts

Suppose that you decide to have a dog, you have his qualification in mind and you are ready to buy one of your own, do not be hurry because without consideration it may causes you many problems later. A place you will buy dog is as important as type of dog you want. If you want pure breed dog, you should go to a dog fair and talk to the owner. You also can read dog magazine or search for information from library, advertising board or newspaper. You re recommended asking for information from experienced person. Veterinarian normally knows a suitable place. You can visit a breeding place to observe dog’s environment (it should be clean and comfortable) including dog’s living state.

You are able to find dogs from various places such as owner’s place, breeding place or animal organization. No matter where you decide, use basic rule and consider safety and some signs that warn you about the place’s reliability and so you will not be disappointed if you follow he following rules;

- Do not buy dog younger than 6 weeks. An appropriate age is 8 weeks because younger dog is likely to be attached to caretaker and does not get along with other dogs. In opposite, the longer dog does not get love from human, the longer he will take to adjust with human.

- Do not buy dogs from unhygienic place or god that is inactive or idle as inappropriate environment will make dogs unhealthy.

- Do not buy puppy from crowded place.

- Do not buy dogs that their owner does not let you to observe their living or refuse to let you stay alone with them.

- Do not accept a dog that owner does not guarantee that you can return the dog with full amount if veterinarian finds any abnormality in them after purchasing for few days.

- Do not believe if someone tells you that puppy below 4 months old are completely vaccinated because it is not true.

- If you are going to select for a dog from kennel, do not choose one with scaring behavior even though you feel pity for him as he is the weakest one of all and probably cannot grow healthy.

- Do not choose a dog with diarrhea as it is a sign of having parasite or other health problems.
